Two new resources – Global Health Cases and Soil Science Cases – are now available on the CABI Digital Library.
The resources are part of CABI Cases which are a growing collection of practical, educational case studies providing valuable educational tools and support study, research and practice.
Both Global Health Cases and Soil Science Cases provide real, educational examples of research in practice. They show the real impact of a well-defined study or other practical example, intelligent observations that help the reader understand a situation as well as lessons learned.
Insight into real-life, accessible and peer reviewed, case studies
Lecturers and trainers, students and practitioners will find both resources useful in gaining new insight into real-life, accessible and peer reviewed, case studies. These include five free to access case studies for Global Health Cases and Soil Science Cases.
The cases inspire critical thinking and lead to interactions in the classroom or field and are written by and for practitioners, public stakeholders, academics, teachers and students.
Global Health Cases covers a broad spectrum of subjects from epidemiology and disease surveillance to healthcare access, universal coverage and diversity. Other themes and topics include nutrition and food security as well as health systems and policy.
The five free to access cases include ‘The Future of Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) in Global Health,’ ‘A Community-Driven Approach to Rural Healthcare,’ ‘Facilitators and Barriers to Implementing Global Health Policies to Address Non-Communicable Diseases,’ ‘Understanding the Barriers to Equitable Access to Vaccines: An Analysis of COVAX,’ and ‘Is Veganism Morally Required to Protect Global Health.’
Broad spectrum of subjects
Meanwhile, Soil Science Cases cover a broad spectrum of subjects from soil formation and classification to contamination and remediation. Other themes and topics include soil physics, soil chemistry, soil biology and soil conservation and management.
The five free to access cases include ‘Transition to Regenerative Farming,’ ‘Analysis of Soil Samples for Forensic Investigations,’ ‘Soil Health Indicators Used in Temperate Climates for Sustainable Soil Management,’ ‘Utilising Pollution Indices and Spatial Interpolation for the Analysis of Soil Pollution Risk,’ and ‘Towards a Sustainable Soil Health Management in the West African Cocoa Production System.’
Global Health Cases complements CABI’s Global Health database, while Soil Science Cases joins existing Plant Health Cases.
All CABI Cases are offered for inclusion in CABI’s portfolio of resources accessible via the Research4Life initiative providing free access for students, teachers and researchers in many low- and middle-income countries.
