Research pathway for new European Laboratory agreed

A future pathway for agricultural research to take place at a new joint European laboratory based at CABI’s centre in Switzerland was agreed during a visit by a delegation of senior scientists from China last week (6-9 December 2017).

CABI joins 60th anniversary celebrations for Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences

A special ceremony, held in Beijing on 26 May marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), one of the largest national agricultural research institutions in the world. CABI was invited to join the celebrations among some 25 international organisations and national agricultural institutions from outside China. The ceremony was followed on 27 May by a summit on Agricultural Science and Technology Development.

GODAN: Making agriculture and nutrition data open and searchable

Open data – data that is freely available and machine-readable for everyone to use – is a vital resource for improving global food security and human health. The Global Open Data for Agriculture and Nutrition (GODAN) programme has been set up to take pioneering agriculture and nutrition research information and make it openly accessible – together with up-to-date information on soils, weather, land ownership, market prices and similar – to the people who need it most.
