Collaborative MSc in Agricultural and Applied Economics
I joined CABI in August 2016 as the African M&E Regional Coordinator for the Plantwise Programme, providing M&E support to the Plantwise regional team to monitor programme performance.
My experience spans both private and public (including NGO) sectors, working in agricultural policy and socioeconomic research of development programmes, as well as monitoring and evaluation of private and public sector development programmes. I’m experienced in developing project M&E and results measurement systems. I have several years’ experience conducting and managing large household surveys that include baselines, mid-term and end-term evaluations. I’m also an experienced user of SPSS and Stata for data management and analysis.
Before joining CABI I worked for Farm Africa as the Kenya Country M&E manager. Prior to that I worked as an M&E Officer with KPMG Kenya for a fund of AGRA called the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund, and before that, I worked as senior research assistant, combining this role with data management for Tegemeo Institute, Kenya
CABI has a regional centre for Africa in Nairobi. Agriculture is essential for sub-Saharan Africa’s economic growth and yet average crop yields in Africa are among the lowest in the world. Over 80% rely on it but many face challenges in growing sufficient good quality produce.
