PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology; MSc in Crop Science; BSc in Agriculture
I have more than eight years experience of working in both developed and developing countries on a range of projects, mainly in plant health. I have spent the last four years working with various stakeholders in Uganda and Zambia to establish all inclusive plant health systems through the Plantwise Initiative. My activities as the Plantwise Regional Support Manager, Africa are many but I specifically support country coordinators and stakeholders in countries to implement the Plantwise initiative.
CABI has a regional centre for Africa in Nairobi. Agriculture is essential for sub-Saharan Africa’s economic growth and yet average crop yields in Africa are among the lowest in the world. Over 80% rely on it but many face challenges in growing sufficient good quality produce.
