About
I lead CABI’s Knowledge Business, which encompasses our commercial publishing and the knowledge and data management projects that support our international development work.
We put know-how into people’s hands, turning evidence-based information into actionable advice. Our work includes: abstracting and indexing databases, which help people find essential content and stay up-to-date in their specialist area; open access journals, providing a fast, open and reliable service for sharing research findings across all fields relevant to agriculture and the biosciences; books, compendia, knowledge banks and e-learning that synthesize information and expertise to help answer critical questions in agriculture and the environment.
Before joining CABI I did a PhD on potatoes (plant biochemistry) at the University of Cambridge, and have over 25 years of publishing experience spanning journals, books, databases, news magazines/websites and e-learning mostly in the health sciences providing publishing services to many of the world’s leading societies and associations.
Outside of work I like to swim, run, cycle and I’m learning the guitar.

Juno: Transforming Evidence for Agriculture, Food and Climate
To respond urgently in times of crises we need to be ready. Researchers need the know-how and tools to develop rapid evidence synthesis at short notice, and coordinated networks need to be able to translate, communicate, and share evidence at a moment’s notice so that policymakers can use that evidence. The Juno Evidence Alliance will be a cutting-edge global platform that empowers evidence-based policy in agriculture, food systems, and climate adaptation. By utilising artificial intelligence and proven research methodologies, the aim is to streamline the synthesis of diverse data sources, providing timely, relevant, and high-quality conclusions for governments, funders, and policymakers. With Juno, decision-makers can accelerate progress, reduce costs, coordinate messages, and shape a sustainable and resilient future for the benefit of all.
