Project Manager
CABI, Nosworthy Way, Wallingford, Oxfordshire, OX10 8DE, United Kingdom
I joined CABI in January 2015 as a Project Manager coordinating mNutrition activities in four lead countries (Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Zambia & Cote d’Ivoire) and will also be working on overall project coordination with consortium partners GAIN, Oxfam, ILRI and BMJ.
Previous to joining CABI I worked at the Partnership for Child Development, Imperial College London where I was responsible for managing monitoring and evaluation projects of government-implemented Home Grown School Feeding Programmes in Africa. I have a background in food security, sustainable production systems and horticulture. I have previously worked in Kenya with smallholder farmers and am interested in the interdisciplinary nature of agriculture, farm ecology and human nutrition.

Pests can decimate crops and are estimated to cause around a 40% loss. These insects, mites and plant pathogens can impact on food security and impede supply chains and international trade. A Pest Risk Information SErvice (PRISE) aims to solve this problem by using data to help farmers manage pests in up to five countries in sub-Saharan Africa.

One in three people in the developing world suffer from hidden hunger, or micronutrient deficiency, due to a lack of information on proper nutrition. This is a major cause of illness, poor growth, reduced productivity and impaired cognitive development. To help combat the problem, CABI and its partners in the DFID mNutrition initiative are developing content for a mobile phone-based messaging service aimed at increasing knowledge of nutrition and health within communities in 14 countries.
