About
I am a Project Manager at CABI’s centre in Pakistan leading the Better Cotton GIF project in Punjab. The project’s aim is to drive sustainability and resilience in cotton production to help strengthen Pakistan’s cotton industry. My skills in project management allow me to effectively coordinate, plan, implement and monitor agricultural projects that benefit farmers and the environment.
I have a strong background in the principles and practices of sustainable farming and experience in organic agriculture. This experience has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to help farmers transition from conventional farming methods to more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. I am also an expert in conducting training programs for farmers, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement organic farming practices successfully.
My expertise encompasses crop pest and disease diagnosis, promoting sustainable agricultural production and postharvest management, and enhancing market-driven agricultural commodities through market demand assessment. This enables me to design and implement strategies that help to improve smallholder farmers’ income and livelihoods.
I have led projects that empower farmers to align with consumer demands, adopt climate-smart crop production technologies, and improve working conditions for women and youth while fostering gender inclusion. My efforts ensure that women play a crucial role in sustainable agricultural development. At CABI, I remain dedicated to supporting smallholder farmers, promoting sustainability, and bridging the gap between research and practical solutions by integrating scientific knowledge with actionable strategies.

Cotton is Pakistan’s largest industrial sector. In total though, the industry is losing around 10-15% through poor traditional practices. Using the Better Cotton Standard System, we are encouraging farmers to implement Better Cotton production principles and criteria, Good Agricultural Practices by providing participatory training to thousands of small, medium and large-sized farmers and their farm workers.
