Sustainability Manager
Nosworthy Way, Wallingford, Oxfordshire, OX10 8DE, United Kingdom
About
My role as Sustainability Manager focuses on designing and implementing sustainable business models for many of CABI’s digital products, exploring new revenue models and partnerships to ensure their long-term impact in a changing funding landscape. This includes stakeholder engagement, project management, business development and innovation.
I am also Secretary of the CABI Science Council and Project Executive for the PRISE portfolio of projects within the Data Science, Modelling and AI subject area of expertise.
I joined CABI in 2015 as a Senior Project Manager for Digital Development. Since then, I’ve led the design and delivery of complex multi-million-dollar international projects focused on agricultural sustainability issues which aim to improve farm productivity, support the adoption of sustainable practices, and strengthen farmer resilience.
Through my time in the Digital Development team, I also worked extensively with digital and data-driven approaches, including Earth observation, remote sensing, AI and modelling to improve data-driven advisories to actors across the agricultural sector.
With a background in smallholder farming systems, particularly in Africa, I’ve developed technical skills in operationalizing agroecology, integrated pest management, and biocontrol, as well as valuable insights into the socio-economic and political contexts in which food systems operate.

PRISE: a Pest Risk Information SErvice
Pests can decimate crops and are estimated to cause around a 40% loss. These insects, mites and plant pathogens can impact on food security and impede supply chains and international trade. A Pest Risk Information SErvice (PRISE) aims to solve this problem by using data to help farmers manage pests in up to five countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
