PlantwisePlus in Nepal

Agriculture is central to Nepal’s economy, but farmers face ongoing threats to their livelihoods, including crop pests and diseases. Limited access to expert advice worsens these challenges, particularly in rural areas where smallholder farmers often struggle to find timely and accurate solutions.

PlantwisePlus, in partnership with local and national organizations, is working to address these issues by improving access to agricultural advisory services and helping farmers manage pests and diseases that can cause significant crop losses. These services support farmers in adopting safer, more sustainable practices, enhancing their productivity and livelihoods.

Since its inception, the plant clinic programme in Nepal has played a crucial role in diagnosing crop issues and providing management recommendations to strengthen local food security.
