PlantwisePlus in India

Agriculture forms the backbone of India’s economy, employing nearly 44% of the workforce. However, farmers in the country face many challenges, including pests and diseases, which destroy up to 40% of crops.

Through our work with local and national partners, PlantwisePlus is supporting farmers in protecting crops, increasing yields, and improving livelihoods.

In India, digital tools are playing a key role in this effort by supporting farmer advisors in making informed plant health decisions. The PlantwisePlus digital tools and eLearning courses equip extension workers and farmers with the knowledge they need for sustainable pest management, strengthening India’s agricultural resilience.
