I'm now going to talk to you about how to close a to glove. Hannah will open my packet for me. My hands are still inside my gown. Inside the packet is sterile. I have to reach through, grab the packet, taking care not to touch Hannah, and drop it onto my table. For closed gloving, my hands are still inside my gown. I have to take absolute care that that's where they stay. I open my packet. As you can see, the fingers are facing towards me. Take care when opening your packet. Now with my right hand, I grab the glove opposite me, which is in effect, my right glove. Put my fingers onto the fingers of the right glove. I grab the cuff with my right hand, as you can see. I flick it onto my palm. The fingers are facing down-- once again, taking care for my fingers not to come through the gown any time. With my left hand, I grab that rim of the cuff. It's quite fiddly. I pull it straight over my hand. And in one smooth movement, I pull my glove on. Then I now I need to glove my other hand. Put my fingers on there to help myself to loosen the cuff. With my left hand, I grab that cuff, flick it onto my palm, fingers facing downwards. Grab the rim of that left glove. Once again, in one smooth movement, pull it on to my hand. Now this time, if I want to, I can rearrange my gown inside my cuff slightly, making sure the white part of my gown does not come out of the rest of my glove. I'm now ready for surgery.
