Abstract

From November 1990 to January 1991, serum samples from 300 cattle were tested for antibodies against Toxoplasma gondii using the Sabin and Feldman technique. 28.3% had titres ≥1:32 and were considered positive. False positive results (<1:32) were obtained from 66.7% of animals. It is concluded that there is a high risk of infection by T. gondii from raw meat in Tabasco.
