Abstract

In the Moldavian SSR, 96.2% of 157 cattle aged >2 years were infected with Sarcocystis at slaughter. Of 3477 adult cattle brought to the Kishinev meat processing plant, 52.3% were infected with hydatids, 34.1% with Fasciola, 56.2% with Dicrocoelium and 49.8% with all 3 helminths. In animals aged <3 years, the prevalences were considerably lower.
