During 1957 North Borneo has remained free from major epizootics. Buffaloes, cattle, pigs and goats have greatly increased in number during the last five years.
Pigs are reasonably free from serious diseases but KIDNEY-WORMS and LUNGWORMS are found in nearly all pigs slaughtered in the abattoirs.

In buffaloes the major problem is the control of Ascaris vitulorum in calves, which causes 80% of calf deaths. Chenopodium has been used with some success. In abattoirs, adult buffaloes and cattle are not found to harbour Ascaris and no single specimen has been recovered from an adult.
