Five cases of bovine infection with Dermatophilus congolensis are described. Clinical features, histopathology, morphological and biochemical properties of the 2 isolates and experimental infection of mice and rabbits are described.

The fungus was isolated from plaques on a 6-year-old cow with generalized dermatitis that was particularly severe in the lumbar region, neck and shoulders. This is the first report of this infection in Chile.
