Abstract

Of 169376 infected slaughter animals (163535 cattle, 3478 sheep, 2185 pigs and 178 horses) 64.6% had cysts in the liver, 54.5% in the lung, and 5.5% in other viscera.

Abstract

In Chile, 163,535 cattle, 3,478 sheep, 2,185 pigs and 178 equines were found to have hydatid at slaughter. Of these 64.3, 76.2, 64.8 and 98.3% had cysts in the liver and 55.0, 38.6, 39.7 and 41.6% in the lungs, respectively.
