Abstract

S. labiatopapillosa infections in cattle in the Uzbek SSR showed seasonal peaks in winter and spring. The infection rate of the vector, Aedes caspius, was 0.18-0.30%. Factors influencing infection rates in cattle are discussed.

The helminth fauna of ungulates in the Uzbek SSR is analyzed and discussed. The number of species known for sheep is 92, cattle 66, horse 65, goat 58, donkey 51, camel 28 and pig 26; the numbers for several wild ruminants and for boar are also quoted. The most important are strongylate nematodes.
