Abstract

The disease in cattle, horses and swine was confined to SE Mexico, with a cyclic appearance (every 2-5 years) and a morbidity rate of 10-15%. During 1984 there were 94 outbreaks of disease caused by New Jersey virus (119 in 1983) and only one caused by Indiana virus (1 in 1983).
