Abstract

In 1979-1983, results of autopsies of 430 animals in the Bukhara and Navoisk regions of Uzbekistan, USSR, showed 89.8% to be infected with helminths. 35 species were detected in Karakul sheep, 26 in cattle, 12 in camels and 4 in pigs.

Abstract

The helminth fauna of ungulates in the Uzbek SSR is analyzed and discussed. The number of species known for sheep is 92, cattle 66, horse 65, goat 58, donkey 51, camel 28 and pig 26; the numbers for several wild ruminants and for boar are also quoted. The most important are strongylate nematodes.
