Abstract

A live vaccine prepared from a selected strain of Clostridium chauvoei (strain 2/14) of low residual virulence was tried during 1979 on 749 cattle in Dagestan, during 1980 on 3368 cattle, and subsequently on 600 000 cattle in various parts of Dagestan. It proved to be safe and highly effective.
