Abstract

During 1963 to 1971 over 400,000 cattle were killed and examined in the slaughter houses of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Hydatidosis was present in 5.09%, cysticerciasis in 1.80% and fascioliasis in 2.35%. The exact geographical origin of the cattle was often difficult to trace.
