Improving lives by solving problems in agriculture and the environment

Agriculture & International Development

Agriculture & International Development

CABI’s products help researchers and policymakers develop strategies that support agriculture and the environment, and ultimately improve livelihoods.

Agriculture is one of CABI’s core areas of expertise and knowledge. We have been providing information on agriculture since 1913 and publish resources covering applied economics and sociology, biofuels, agricultural engineering, agricultural entomology, livestock, rural development, sustainable agriculture and the sugar industry. Our resources are suitable for both users working in scientific research and practitioners in the field.

International development is the process of improving the quality of life and economic wellbeing of people. CABI has been collating information on the issues affecting livelihoods and economies globally since 1959. Our resources enable extension workers to provide better advice to smallholder farmers on agricultural practice, helping them lose less of their crops to pests and diseases, improve crop quality and yield, and sell their produce for better prices.

CAB Abstracts is the leading English-language bibliographic information service providing access to the world’s applied life sciences literature. Now with over 9.1 million records!

CAB Abstracts Archive contains over 1.8 million records (from 600 printed journals) on agriculture, veterinary science, nutrition and the environment, bringing the science of the early 20th century to the desktops of modern researchers.

AgBiotechNet gives access to research developments in genetic modification, GM foods, cloning, sequencing and genomics, tissue culture, molecular techniques, and relevant economic and social issues.

We also have a growing catalogue of CAB Reviews, Books and eBooks covering these subject areas.
