Now open for submissions

CABI is pleased to launch a new collection of One Health resources, edited by Jakob Zinsstag and Lisa Crump, from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Switzerland. Stressing the relationship between humans, animals, plants, ecosystems and their shared environment in a transdisciplinary way, they will support research and its practical application in this important area. The resources will comprise research articles, cases, chapters and more, promoting the sharing of practical experiences, and providing support for education and training.

"We are really excited to be launching this innovative and integrated suite of One Health Resources because we strongly believe that humans, animals, plants and their environments are intimately linked, and One Health principles demonstrate where these interconnections bring benefits to human and animal health and wellbeing, financial savings and a sustainable, healthy environment. To bring these resources to life we need a global editorial board that covers human, animal, plant and environmental health, along with a deeper understanding of their social, cultural and political dimensions. We are looking for people who, while being experts in their disciplines, are also open to engage in a truly inter- and transdisciplinary dialogue. And, just as importantly, we need a gender balanced board representing all six continents. If you share our passion for One Health and want to get involved, we’d love to hear from you."

Jakob Zinsstag, Editor-in-Chief

CABI defines One Health as "any added value in terms of human, animal, plant and environmental health, sustainability, financial savings, and social resilience, achievable by the cooperation of human, veterinary, plant, environmental and social sciences when compared to the disciplines working independently."

These resources foster transdisciplinary approaches that consider academic and non-academic, practical, local and indigenous knowledge in the research process, and which encompass exchange and cooperation among the scientific disciplines as well as between science and society. We believe the contribution of value from all stakeholders helps to co-produce transformational knowledge that leads to practical solutions.
