Abstract

This paper notes that, viewed from a tourism point of view, the UK as a destination has not benefitted from EU membership. It also discusses the problems with the Package Travel Directive (PTD) and the Tour Operators Margin Scheme (TOMS), highlighting the need for new regulation on package travel.
