Information sources on tourism and travel for older people.

This chapter discusses the main types of information sources that are used by older adults in selecting a tourist destination. An examination of the influence of mass media on trip decision making in this segment of the tourist industry is presented, as well as a critique on the lack of senior models in advertising campaigns for travel products that are aimed at the older market. Discussions on the changing role of travel agents in providing international travel for seniors and the increased use of the internet by older adults for travel purposes are also presented.
