Motivations and constraints to tourism and leisure for older adults.

The aim of this chapter is to define motivation and discuss how it has been applied to the study of tourism and travel for older adults. Discussions on the main reasons that encourage or discourage older adults from travelling are presented, including discussions on the importance of travel and healthy ageing, as well as the psychographics of different older market segments for leisure and travel. The main constraints to travel are discussed, including the ways on how to overcome them.
