Abstract

Purposes: The effects of exotic Larix kaempferi on soil and biodiversity were investigated to provide the research progress for other studies in this area. Methods: Based on summarizing and analyzing the relevant research literatures,it summarized the research progress of the impact of exotic Larix kaempferi on the soil physical and chemical properties, the soil enzyme activities, the soil biodiversity, the plant diversity and the conservation of rare animals. Findings: The introduction of Larix kaempferi not only changed the soil physical and chemical properties, and the soil enzyme activities, but also changed the biodiversity of the belowground ecosystem through the changes of the litter production, the standing crop and the decomposition rate, and then affected the aboveground plant diversity and the habitat of rare animals.At the same time, the soil characteristics, the soil microorganism and the biodiversity of Larix kaempferi forest also changed with the stand age, the stand composition, the human disturbance and other factors. Conclusions: It is necessary to strengthen the tending management of existing Larix kaempferi forest, timely clean up the dead branches and sick trees, carry out the soil fertility management of near-mature Larix kaempferi forest, and actively carry out scientific assessment of the forest ecosystem health and the ecological function of Larix kaempferi forest.In addition, the introduction of the exotic species such as Larix kaempferi should be strictly restricted in ecologically sensitive areas such as the virgin forests and the habitat of rare animals.
