Abstract

The globular springtail Sminthurinus lawrencei Gisin (Katiannidae) is recorded in Britain for the third time, form Surrey. A key to the British members of the 'aureus group' of the genus is provided to include the species, the non-native species resembling Sminthurinus reticulatus Cassagnau, and Sminthurinus alpinus Gisin, which could be recorded in the country in the future.
