Abstract

Pathways of invasive spider mites and biological control issues.

Abstract

Phytosanitary importance of spider mites (Tetranychidae) is highlighted by their acceptance in quarantine pest lists of different countries. Based on the data of pest risk analysis of spider mites, the main pathways for these organisms have been pointed out: plants for planting, plants in pots and host plant fruits. The article considers the importance of using biological control agents and the related issues such as evaluating the pest risk of new species introduction and using this product.
