Abstract

The box tree moth Cydalima perspectalis (Walker. 1859) is recorded for the first time in Sāo Miguel island in the Azores archipelago. It is an invasive species from Eastern Asia that causes severe damages to different species of ornamental plants of the genus Buxus L. in Europe. Notes on worldwide distribution and ecology of this species are provided.
