Abstract

First report of European mountain ash ringspot-associated virus in Kkarpatiosorbus x hybrida in Finland.

Abstract

This paper reports on the discovery of the presence of European mountain ash ringspot-associated virus (EMARaV) from sampled leaf material from 6 trees of Karpatiosorbus × hybrida cultivated in a public park in the city of Helsinki, Finland, showing chlorotic ringspots, mottle, line patterns, sometimes accompanied by leaf deformation and decline. The causal pathogen was identified based on various molecular analyses. This is thought to be the first record of EMARaV affecting Karpatiosorbus × hybrida in Finland.
