Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Special Issue: Celebrating the international year of plant health.

Abstract

This special issue contains 9 papers on the following topics: (1) identification of race-specific quantitative trait loci for resistance to Colletotrichum lindemuthianum in an Andean population of common bean; (2) screening of 19,460 genotypes of wheat species for resistance to powdery mildew and identification of potential candidates using focused identification of germplasm strategy (FIGS); (3) association mapping and genomic prediction for ear rot disease caused by Fusarium verticillioides in a tropical maize germplasm; (4) genome-wide analysis and prediction of Fusarium head blight resistance in soft red winter wheat; (5) integration of anthracnose resistance loci and RLK and NBS-LRR-encoding genes in the Phaseolus vulgaris genome; (6) identification and validation of Fusarium head blight resistance QTL in the US soft red winter wheat cultivar 'Jamestown'; (7) genome-wide association study of resistance to anthracnose and angular leaf spot in Brazilian Mesoamerican and Andean common bean cultivars; (8) fall-armyworm invasion, control practices and resistance breeding in sub-Saharan Africa; and (9) identification and diversity of tropical maize inbred lines with resistance to common rust (Puccinia sorghi).
