Indoor bioactivity of avennectin B2a derivate lepimectin analogue against Spodoptera frugiperda.


Objective: To determine the bioactivity of lepimectin analogue in different concentrations against Spodoptera frugiperda, and provide reference for green control of S. frugiperda. Method: Indoor bioactivity was measured by leaf dipping method,10 S. frugiperda larvae were feed corn leaves separately, the leaves were dipped in different concentrations of lepimectin analogue(0,0.25,0.50,1.00,2.00 and 4.00 mg/L), each group repeated three times. Then the indexes such as body weight and length of S. frugiperda were measured after the treatment for 24 and 48 h, and observed the mortality of larvae, thus researching the effect of lepimectin analogue on the 2nd instar larvae of S. frugiperda. Result: The results showed that under the indoor condition, after feeding the corn leaves soaked by lepimectin analogue for 24 and 48 h, the mortality rates of S. frugiperda 2nd instar larvae increased with the concentrations of lepimectin analogue. After feeding the leaves impregnated with 4.00 mg/L lepimectin analogue solution for 24 h, the body length growth rate was -1.06%, the inhibition rate of body length was 120.88% and the average feeding leaf area was 4.67 mm2, calculating the inhibition rate of feeding was 39.13%. After treatment with 4.00 mg/L lepimectin analogue for 24 and 48 h, the inhibition rates of body weight growth of 2nd instar larvae were 19.03% and 56.07%, respectively. Conclusion: Lepimectin analogue has certain effect on the body length, weight and food intake of S. frugiperda, thus it has application value in the prevention and control of S. frugiperda.
