The parasitism of Telenomus remus and Trichogramma chilonis on Spodoptera frugiperda found in the fields of Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

From April to July, 2019, a regular survey of Spodoptera frugiperda was conducted in the cornfields of Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Two species of egg parasitoids were found to be parasitic in S. frugiperda in the cornfields. Then, the egg parasitoids were cultivated in the eggs of S. frugiperda and identified by molecular identification as Telenomus remus and Trichogramma chilonis. Moreover, the experimental populations of these egg parasitoid wasps were established respectively, which laid a foundation for artificial propagation and field application. This study provides important references for the biological control of S. frugiperda with native natural enemies.
