Abstract
Two new invasive whiteflies (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) to Tanzania.
Abstract
This paper provides information on the discovery of 2 invasive whiteflies (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) colonizing sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) in a screenhouse at Kibaha Research Station in the Coast Region of Tanzania and a palm (Arecaceae) in Arusha, Tanzania. These whiteflies were identified as Aleurotrachelus trachoides and Aleurotrachelus atratus based on morphological and molecular analyses. These whitefly species are thought to be new records for Tanzania.
