Abstract

In August 2014, 25 chilli (Capsicum annuum) leaf samples with symptoms of mottling, interveinal chlorosis and dark green vein-banding were collected from 3 sites in Multan, Pakistan. Based on molecular data (nucleotide sequences), the causal pathogen was identified as Chilli ringspot virus. This is thought to be the first report of Chilli ringspot virus on C. annuum in Pakistan.
