First report of Dahlia latent viroid in Turkey.

Abstract

Asymptomatic plants of Dahlia sp. were randomly selected in gardens in Turkey. Total RNA was extracted from leaf tissue. 12 plants proved to be infected with Dahlia latent viroid. Based on molecular data (nucleotide sequences), the causal agent was identified as Dahlia latent viroid. This is thought to be the first report of Dahlia latent viroid on Dahlia sp. in Turkey.
