First report of grapevine virus D (GVD) in autochthonous grapevine varieties in Turkey.
The presence of grapevines viruses were investigated in autochthonous grape cultivars from 2 viticultural areas in Turkey, i.e. Eastern Mediterranean and Southeast Anatolia. The occurrence of Grapevine virus D (GVD) was detected on the infected grapevine samples based on molecular and pathogenciity analyses. This is thought to be the first report on the occurrence of GVD in Turkish grapevines.
