First report of almond moth, Cadra cautella as a cause of premature fruit drop in tree bean, Parkia roxburghii G Don.

Abstract

During surveys conducted in Manipur, India, during the 2014 and 2015 autumn seasons, the presence of a pest causing premature fruit drop in tree bean, Parkia timoriana, was observed. The causal organism was identified as the almond moth, Cadra cautella, based on observations on infested trees and morphological analysis. This is thought to be the first report of the occurrence of C. cautella on P. timoriana in Manipur, India.
