Abstract

This issue of New Zealand Journal of Zoology (volume 45) selected and presents seven papers in honor of Carolyn "Kim" King (the editor of the Handbook of New Zealand mammals), these papers reflect the interests and expertise of Kim's past research and includes the following: a new toxin delivery device for stoats - results from a pilot field trial; trialling monitoring methods for feral cats, ferrets and rodents in the Whangamarino wetland; estimating feral cat (Felis catus) density in a rural to urban gradient using camera trapping; detection of wild house mice and other small mammals up trees and on the ground in New Zealand native forest; interactions between ship rats and house mice at Pureora Forest Park; novel edible coatings to improve longevity of rodent baits; and mouse management on Ōtamahua/Quail Island - lessons learned.
