Abstract
A new host for the parasitic macrofungus Marasmius palmivorus Sharples (Marasmiaceae).
Abstract
During continuous investigations on the macrofungal flora of West Bengal, India, over the last few decades, a fungal species was collected from the living stem of Lagerstroemia speciosa tree and identified as Marasmius palmivorus based on morphological and molecular analyses. Previously, this fungus had been reported to be parasitic on oil palms, coconuts and bananas. The present finding expands the host range for this species.
