First report of bacterial wilt disease caused by Ralstonia solanacearum on blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum) in Florida.
In the autumn of 2016 and spring of 2017, a bacterial pathogen was isolated from blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) at 7 farms in 6 counties in Florida, USA. Symptoms were bronzing of leaves, marginal leaf necrosis and bacterial streaming. The causal pathogen was isolated and identified as Ralstonia solanacearum based on molecular and pathogenicity analyses. This is thought to be first report of bacterial wilt caused by R. solanacearum on blueberries in Florida, USA.
