Abstract

First report of Strawberry pallidosis-associated virus on strawberry in China.

Abstract

During the 2016 spring season, virus-like symptoms including leaf mottle, distortion, chlorosis, reddening and stunting were observed on strawberry plants in commercial fields in Fujian, China. Strawberry plants (n=108) showing various virus-like symptoms were collected from 8 regions of the province for further investigation. The causal pathogen was identified as Strawberry pallidosis-associated virus (SPaV) based on various molecular analyses. This is thought to be the first report of SPaV infecting strawberry in China.
