The research progress of BRCA1/BRCA2 and the prospect of the diagnose and treatment of breast cancer.
BRCA1/BRCA2 are the important factors in homologous recombination of DNA. BRCA1/BRCA2 play an important role in maintaining chromosome integrity. The mutations in key parts of the BRCA1/BRCA2 are able to increase the sensitivity of the cells and result in the tumor mutation. In this review, the genomic structure and function of BRCA1/BRCA2, the mechanism of action in the repair, and the methods of personalized diagnosis and treatment in breast cancer were introduced from the genomic level and molecular level. Also, The research status of BRCA gene mutation in breast cancer at home and abroad and some effective detection methods of BRCA gene mutation were expounded, hoping that new drugs and targeted therapies for BRCA1/BRCA2 mutations would be perfected. At last, the future of "personalized" and "advanced" treatment options for breast cancer was prospected.
