First detections of Swede midge (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) in Minnesota.

Abstract

This paper reports of the discovery of the presence of Swede midge (Contarinia nasturtii), an invasive insect pest, during surveys conducted in Minnesota, USA, in 2016. The pest was identified based on morphological analyses. This is thought to be the first report of the occurrence of C. nasturtii in Minnesota, USA, infesting various Brassicaceae species.
