Abstract

First report of American plum line pattern virus infecting flowering cherry (Prunus serrulata) in Japan.

Abstract

In late spring 2015, several flowering cherry (Prunus serrulata) trees with conspicuous yellowish oak-leaf pattern symptoms on their leaves were observed in the Kyoto and Nara prefectures of Japan. The presence of the American plum line pattern virus (APLPV) was detected based on various molecular analyses. This is thought to be the first report of the presence of APLPV in Japan.
