Abstract

First report of Broad bean wilt virus 2 infecting sesame in China.

Abstract

A survey of sesame viral diseases was conducted in July 2016 in Jiyang, Shandong Province, China. Symptoms of mosaic, chlorotic mottle, distortion and puckering symptoms were observed on leaves of approximately 30% of the sesame cv. Zhongzhi No. 13 plants in the surveyed fields. The presence of the Broad bean wilt virus 2 (BBWV2) was detected based on various molecular analyses. This is thought to be the first report of BBWV2 in sesame.
