Abstract

The article provides an assessment of the economic significance of ants of Rostov region. It is proposed to distinguish 6 groups of ants by potential economic significance among 30 known species of urban and agricultural eco-systems. There are 3 invasive polygynous species (Crematogaster subdentata, Lasius neglectus, Monomorium pharaonis) and 3 ubiquitous species (Lasius niger, L. alienus, Tetramorium caespitum) with most significant potential of negative economic impact.
