First report of Orchid fleck dichorhavirus from Cymbidium sp. in China.
During the past 3 years, a total of 403 orchid samples showing symptoms of mosaic, ringspot or malformation, distributed in 19 orchid genera, were collected from some of the main orchid producing areas in Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Kunming and Xiamen (China). The causal pathogen was identified as Orchid fleck virus (OFV) on a Cymbidium sp. sample (no. 503-3283) that displayed weak chlorotic and necrotic spots on the leaves from Xiamen based on various molecular analyses. This is thought to be the first report of OFV from Cymbidium sp. in China.
