Comparison of phenology and biochemical components of tea varieties introduced in Gourong.
The phenological period, bud character, and spring biochemical components of 14 tea species introduced in Gourong of Jiangsu Province, China were investigated. It was found that there were 7 extra-early species and 6 early species. The amino acid content of spring tea was 1.65-3.03%, tea polyphenol content 18.01-34.31%, caffeine content 2.98-3.9%, and polysaccharide content 3.4-4.69%. The quality of Xicha 5, Sucha 1, Tezao 213, Fudingdahao, Duohangxiang, Longjing 43 and Biyun 7 was excellent for green tea.
